It's a great story about a gold miner who was in his tunnel digging for gold, swinging his pick day after day, nothing seeming to change. Finally he gave up; he just couldn't continue because nothing seemed different; every day looked just like the last. From his perspective it was a waste of time.
Someone else came in after he left and found that he was three feet from one of the biggest veins of gold ever discovered! Moral of the story, if you find yourself in a hole digging for something precious ...
